- Spoiler:
- While exploring the world of Kingdom Hearts Chronicles there will be times when your character encounters combat and sometimes life threatening situations. These situations can be complex when it comes to rp as the out come isn't always fathomable. And so, we have removed this complexity and allowed for your characters hard work and training to truly shine. That training is measured and put to the test as we introduce to you KHC Battle System!Overview
*The KHC Battle System simplifies combat and streamlines battle flow, allowing for modded situations to be near seamless.
*Players are encouraged to create unique builds that suit their RP flavor and character likes. Skills used in your inventory may be used RPly within context, so don't be afraid to be creative. If you're unsure if something is allowed, just ask.
*Combat is supposed to be fluid and quick, utilizing Discord and rolls between players. Cheating is unlikely due to mostly every system and item being public knowledge, including rolls.
*Navigate the spoilers for everything you need to know about KHC’s player versus player (PvP) and player vs environment (PvE).
Rules of Engagement
- Spoiler:
- *These are rules you need to know BEFORE going into a battle! Read these rules thoroughly so you know how to initiate a battle so the BMod call won't be voided.
Calling Moderator- Spoiler:
- Some conditions need to be met before you can call a Mod (Moderator) into your battle.
:: The one calling the Mod MUST be on their second post or further. No battle maybe called by a player upon his/her entry into a topic but one maybe called on him/her upon entry.
:: Everyone in the topic will be in the battle.
IMPORTANT
Once a mod has been called, nobody else may join the topic normally. Those who wish to join the topic will be required to be "Called In" in order to enter the fight.
IMPORTANT Once a mod has been called, character sheets may not be edited except in extraneous circumstances. Pm an admin to review.
NOTE: If there is "Leap-Frogging" to speed up the person's second posting, all entrants will be voided out of the topic
What is "Leap-Frogging"?: This is used when 2 or more people enter a topic, post and then post again without waiting until their next turn to just call the Mod. These people intentionally post one after the next in order to call a Mod. This will be seen as grieving and will be handled appropriately.
If there is nothing wrong with the Mod call, then the person who made the Mod Call may now request a Mod.
No Death Clause
Everyone starting the battle MUST agree to this. The person calling Mod may request that there is no death in the battle (even if happy accidents happen). If everyone agrees to this in the Mod request, then there will be no death -- period -- in this fight
Requesting a Mod- Spoiler:
- In the Mod Request forum, you will have to fill out the Mod request form. Fill it out and post a request! Easy!
Denying a Mod
A mod is to be the referee and bridge between the players and their actions. You may only deny a mod if you have a valid reason to do so (favoritism, known to cheat, etc etc). The valid reason will be reviewed by the Admin and they will determine if the reason is suitable. We will do our best to accommodate all issues and concerns.
Starting Round 1- Spoiler:
- Once a mod has cleared the participants as g2g, all participants must send their actions and rolls for those actions to the moderator to mod the battle.
You are requiredto post in the topic with a roleplay on your turn of actions. It is not the Mods job to insure that you do. Failure to provide a post in the allotted time of your turn will result in actions and turn skipped. Upon request time extensions may be granted.
The following are SOME of the things you should send to the mod to help your battle run smoothly when posting:
:: Current standard actions and reflexives available this round
:: List any beginning of round regen effects.
:: When posting an action like a spell as an action, post the cost of the spell. If you are using a special action, state which special action you are doing. If you are using any Dependent Special Moves, state which Dependent Special Move you are doing. You may also state what buffs you have to these attacks to help the mod (including accuracy and damage buffs/ de-buffs). If using a spell with multiple ranks, state what rank you are using -- this will default to the highest rank your character can do if no rank is stated. Must also state your target.
Round 2 and Onward
From Round 2 and onward, you are required to do 3 things
:: Post an RP in the topic.
:: Updated Hp/Cp in character sheet
:: Send Actions
YOU MUST DO ALL 3
Time Limits- Spoiler:
- Standard
Everyone has 48 hours from the time the mod posts the mod to submit their next round's actions and post an RP in the topic.
Extended
If someone needs it, they can request an extension for this round and this round only.
The extension extends the 48 hours to 120 hours (5 days). You will need to request this extension for every round.
Failure to Meet Time Limits
If you fail to meet the 48 hour (or even 120 hour) time limit, your character will be placed into Defensive Stance as your standard action and the rest of your turn skipped. This is disregarding whether or not you have any of the defensive stance modifications. You will suffer from this penalty until you remove yourself from the Defensive Stance.
Reporting an Issue- Spoiler:
- IMPORTANT!
DO NOT harass your Mod about Mod issues on the forum, on Discord, or on any other medium. They are human and are bound to make mistakes. It is both the participants and mods duty to insure that there are no errors. In cases where you have forgotten to apply your regen to hp/cp or damage buffs/reduction, that is solely your responsibility. This issue will be corrected if caught within 3 rounds as a small issue.
Small Issues
If you have an issue with the round that was posted, please send a PM on-site to the mod about things that are wrong. Small issues can be resolved by the mod without stopping the timer.
BIG Issues
If an issue is sent that the Mod deems a major error, they will temporarily put the fight on-hold until it is fixed. It will be UP TO THE MOD to determine whether or not the error is big enough to put the fight on hold. When a fight is put on hold, this pauses the timer for submitting your RP post and your actions. Once the Mod has fixed the issue, the timer will resume.
In case of harassment
This goes either way -- but if harassment has occurred, you are encouraged to report this to the administration so that person will be dealt with appropriately
Types of Battle
- Spoiler:
- Before you jump into a battle, it is important that you understand the types of battle you'll be able to partake in. There are 3 types of Moderated Battles here, Rp, PvP and PvE.
Rp Battles
*This is a battle in which 2 or more players partake in.
*No stats or rolls are necessary however both participates must be in agreeance in regards to what is successful within this type of battle.
*There will be absolutely no god modding. God modding is defined in site rules -> rp rules.
PvP Battles
*This is considered a modded situation in which 2 or more players combat one another using their character's stats and rolls made via discord.
*Users must request a battle moderator within the request forum found Here before conducting a modded battle.
*Use this B-mod Request form found [Here] for request uniformity.
PvE Battle
*This considered a modded situation in which 2 or more players combat an NPC(s) or Special NPC(s) using their stats and rolls made via discord.
*Important* Battle rolls are conducted and resolve in General-rolling on KCH Discord. For those who opt not use discord, rolls will be made for you upon request.
*Important* PvP requires players to communicate actions with one another. We understand that battles between players can some times raise oocly hostilities and so a Battle Moderator will be available. Battle Moderators serve as a referee and battle liaison.
Entering a battle
- Spoiler:
- Takes 3 full rounds. If a player has been called into Round 1, they are involved in battle at the end of Round 4
Players must be in either the Outer Village zone or the Inner Village zone at the time that the first post of the battle thread took place and in the same Country.
Must either be called in specifically using the headset item, or must be one of the first to post after a signal flare has been used.
Exiting a battle
- Spoiler:
- ::Takes 3 full rounds. If a player attempts to flee after Round 1, they are involved in battle until the end of Round 4
::A player must not suffer more than 50% of their maximum HP during these 3 rounds.
::A player may use any Non-Offensive techniques they have to help them escape. (Non-Offensive techniques are any techniques that are not initiating an attack at a target in an attempt to harm the target in some way.)
::If the running player uses an offensive action they no longer count as running.
End of Combat
- Spoiler:
- ::Can be due to both players deciding to end the fight.
::Can be due to one side of the combat KOing the other side. Once all enemies are KO'd the fight is considered done (unless there are people entering in 3 rounds or less)
::If combat ends due to one side being KO'd then the 'winning' players each can choose one of the following:- Kill the opponents. Doing this takes a full round per kill and you are treated as still being in combat at the beginning of the next round should people be joining the combat. (The Action of killing through roleplay takes 1 full round to accomplish. If anyone attempts to stop at anypoint the 'kill' is nullified)
- Stop an opponent being killed. Doing this can either stop the death of a chosen opponent, or can stop a chosen ally from killing. A player may swap from Leaving the battle, or Remaining to perform this action.
- Leave the battle. Doing this allows you to instantly leave the combat zone, you cannot be stopped leaving the topic.
- Remain. You choose to do neither of the above, remaining in the topic, but not killing your opponents. If you have agree'd OOC to instead inflict a lasting scar/wound on your opponent for them to remember you by then this is the option to take.
::If a player chooses an option that has them remaining in battle while others are entering, they may receive bonuses for resting. Resting rules listed in Battle Compilation.
::If you have been killed then follow the rules found in the OCR Forum to create your new character or revive using the Heartless or Nobody options. - Kill the opponents. Doing this takes a full round per kill and you are treated as still being in combat at the beginning of the next round should people be joining the combat. (The Action of killing through roleplay takes 1 full round to accomplish. If anyone attempts to stop at anypoint the 'kill' is nullified)
K.O, Death and Revival
- Spoiler:
- ::K.O Status - Once a player's HP reaches 0, they are placed under this status and all active Spells being maintained and all Abilities are automatically disabled.
::A K.O'd may be targeted by attacks as normal as long as there are other active participants that can continue the fight, dealing damage to the K.O'd person and bringing them to negative HP.
::Dead - Once a player reaches -100% max HP, they are considered dead and may no longer be interacted or attacked whatsoever.
::Revival and Reviving - Any players may attempt to heal a K.O'd Player using Healing Spells, items, etc although healing only half of the usual amount unless stated otherwise by the spell.
::Upon reaching 20% of the K.O'd Player's max HP, only then the K.O Status is removed and the player may join the battle once more.
